Bletilla Striata (白芨, Bletilla, rhizoma Bletilla, Chinese ground orchid, Bletilla orchid)is traditional Chinese medicine which has been traditionally used in China as a hemostatic agent.

Astringent hemostasis, detumescence, and muscle growth. It is used for coughing up blood, vomiting blood, traumatic bleeding, sores, swelling and poison, and chapped skin; Pulmonary tuberculosis coughing up blood, and ulcer bleeding.

What is Bletilla Striata?

Bletilla striata is a Chinese herb that grows in a strange place, usually on moss or stone walls. It's probably more common in the southern part of China, especially in the Yangtze River valley, and there are some mountain springs where Bletilla Bletilla likes to grow. Bletilla striata contain a polysaccharide with the obvious ability to scavenge free radicals in the body. With the increase of polysaccharide concentration, its scavenging effect is gradually enhanced, and the activity of Bletilla striata to scavenging free radicals is higher than that of vitamin E1. Bletilla striata had a significant inhibitory effect on MTB and Gram-positive bacteria. It is mainly produced in Gansu, Guizhou, southwest China, and other places.
