Angelica Root (当归, Radix Angelicae Sinensis, Dang Gui, Radix Angelicae Sinensis, Angelica, Dong Quai, Tang Kuei)tonifies, invigorates and harmonizes the blood. Traditionally an important herb for women and used for irregular and delayed menstrual cycles, PMS, and menstrual cramps, has a mild sedative effect and is good for pain. It is also considered a Chinese herb for menopause. Angelica Sinensis improves circulation by increasing blood flow.

Angelica sinensis (Oliv.) Dried roots of Diels. At the end of autumn, dig and remove fibrous roots and sediment. After the water evaporates slightly, bundle them into small handfuls, put them in the shed, and slowly smoke them dry with fire.

What is Angelica Root?

Angelica is a genus of plants and herbs that are often used in traditional medicine, particularly in Asian countries. It is the dried root of Angelica Sinensis (Oliv.)Diels. The major cultivated places are in the southeast of Gansu, also cultivated in Yunnan, Sichuan, Shaanxi, Hubei, and another province in China. It has the effect of invigorating blood circulation, regulating menstruation and relieving pain, and moistening intestines. It is often used for blood deficiency, vertigo, palpitation, irregular menstruation, dysmenorrhea, deficiency and cold, abdominal pain, rheumatism, rheumatism, injury, ulcer, bowel dryness, and constipation.
