NAD+ stands for nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide, a type of coenzyme found in humans, animals, yeast and basically all living things.  It is “a cofactor found in all living cells.”  And NAD+ is made up of two nucleotides, the building blocks for nucleic acids, which form DNA.
