A monoecious (female and male flowers on the same plant) fiber hemp variety suitable for both seed and fiber/stalks/biomass production
Early - vegetation period ≤ 120 days
The average height of the plants is 2-2.5 m, so it can be suitable for harvesting seeds with a combine harvester. However, under very favorable conditions for growth, plants can grow even taller
Seed yield potential - 1000-1200 kg/ha
The weight of 1000 seeds are 16.21 g
Seed oiliness - 30-32%
Biomass (dry) yield - 8-10 t/ha
High fiber yield - > 35%
Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) concentration in dry weight - <0.04% (THC concentration of varieties allowed to be grown in the EU does not exceed 0.2%)
Cannabidiol (CBD) concentration in dry weight - 0.5-1.0%
According to the research conducted at the LAMMC Upytė test station, the plants of the 'USO 31' variety were the earliest of all the studied varieties - the vegetation period from complete germination to the maturation of the first seeds in the lower inflorescences lasted about 17-18 weeks (119-126 days). The average height of the cut plants of the variety 'USO 31' was 2.19-2.58 m in the research year. The yield of fiber from soaked straws was 38.2-40.5%. The largest number of pods was obtained from the laid stems of the 'USO 31' variety, so hemp of this variety can also be grown for the purpose of using pods (for fuel pellets, hemp concrete production, etc.). The plants of the variety 'USO 31' produced more inflorescences and seeds, so this variety is also recommended for seed production.
Under different growing conditions than those found in these studies, cultivar parameters may differ from those given here.
SOWING RATE
Recommended sowing rate (for seed production): 2.5-3.0 million seeds/ha, or 40-50 kg/ha
